Allergens & diets
Tell us before you order.
Everything is cooked to order over one charcoal grill, in one kitchen, with one fryer. That is what makes the food what it is, and it is why we will not publish a dish-by-dish allergen table on a web page. Ask us in the restaurant, or ring 01403 257777, and you will get an answer from somebody who can see what is in the kitchen today.

Common questions
Can you tell me what is in a dish?
Yes. Ask us before you order, in the restaurant or on 01403 257777, and we will go through it with you. We do not publish a dish-by-dish allergen list on this site, because the only one worth having is the one the kitchen checks on the day, against the ingredients actually in use.
Is the kitchen free from nuts, gluten or dairy?
No. It is one kitchen and one charcoal grill, and the fryer is shared. We can tell you what is in a dish and we will take an allergy seriously, but we cannot promise that no trace of anything has been near it. If your allergy is severe, tell us when you order rather than when the food arrives, so the kitchen can plan around it.
Do you have vegetarian dishes?
Yes. 19 dishes across our menus are marked (V), and a good part of the cold and hot mezze is vegetarian before you get to the grill at all. The mark is printed on the menu pages themselves, dish by dish.
Can you cook something a different way for me?
Often, yes. Everything on the grill is cooked to order, so leaving something out is usually a matter of asking. Sauces and mezze are made in advance, so those are harder. Ask anyway, and we will check with the kitchen instead of guessing.
How it goes in practice
“My son has a nut allergy and they were very reassuring. […] We were given the most beautiful Turkish bread with dips and olives whilst we looked at the menu, then my son ate the most perfectly cooked lamb chops.”

Booking ahead? Tell us when you book, not when you get here. It gives the kitchen room to cook something separately, which on a busy Saturday is the difference between yes and no.
